AIDAN ARBONA (Contradictions)

Aidan Arbona, is a turn-of-the-21st-century composer and songwriter fascinated with the exploration of polyrhythms and dense harmony plus the tension between consonance and dissonance. His works combine Baroque, Renaissance and jazz techniques. Aidan is a senior vocal major at LaGuardia High School, with a background in classical voice, jazz piano, and funk fusion.

This is a series of contrasting voices contributing to a conversation that sometimes finds agreement, but which can never completely overcome the tension of opposites. The inclusion of baroque and folk elements create expectations that are contradicted when unconventional harmonies and rhythms are introduced
