Alice Jones Receives AMTL Award – the Winter Musicales Tradition Continues

In 2010, flutist Alice Jones was honored with the Associated Music Teachers League (AMTL) Award while studying at CUNY Queens. Known for her dynamic and expressive performances, Alice went on to perform at prestigious events such as the Composers Now! Festival and the Look and Listen Festival, further cementing her place in New York’s classical music scene. The AMTL Award played an essential role in her artistic development, showcasing the League’s ongoing dedication to nurturing young talent.

For over 70 years, AMTL has also brought together young performers through its cherished Winter Musicales, held annually at Queens College in December. This concert features public performances from students, offering them the opportunity to share their music with friends and family in a non-competitive, supportive environment. Open to all instruments and voices, the Winter Musicales has become a beloved tradition, celebrating music education and performance while inspiring future generations of musicians like Alice Jones.
