Associated Music Teachers League
Founded in 1925, the AMTL is a 503(c) non-profit organization whose mission is to advance, through music, cultural education, physical and mental development, and artistic achievement amongst the general public and to increase public awareness of the ability of music to communicate beyond ideological, cultural, and geographical boundaries. In furtherance of this purpose, the AMTL will promote and foster the study of music by presenting public concerts and lectures, providing performance and scholarship opportunities for young musicians, including competitive and non-competitive events, and promoting high artistic, pedagogical, and ethical standards in the study of music throughout the New York Metropolitan and Tri-State area and beyond.
Although in current times more and more school boards consider funds for music curricula and activities to be discretionary spending and cut those funds to balance their budgets, studies show that music education is critical for both academic and emotional development. Our important work, including musical events, initiatives, and sponsorship programs that help would not be possible without our membership dues and through donations from our generous supporters.
Please make a tax-deductible, one-time donation, or consider becoming a sustaining member through monthly contributions.
Donations may, also, be made by check payable to Associated Music Teachers League and mailed to:
